Semana Santa Kita-kita

How's everybody doing? I hope you are all enjoying your vacation.

Looking at my last post, I realized I've been MIA for like almost 2 months. Time really passes by quickly. Wew!

I miss the blogosphere. I miss reading (stalking) people's blogs. I miss my Internet life. Where has it gone to?

Anyway, It's a long vacation for most of us. Semana Santa or Holy Week is the time people get to have their vacations. Let's not forget that it's also a time for reunions!

Yes REUNIONS!

But I'm not talking about a really big reunion here. Just a simple get-together.

A year has just passed since our college graduation day but it feels like just yesterday....

I have a 4-day weekend yet I chose not to go on vacation/hometown. I'm not financially ready so I didn't have much choice but to spend the oh sooo looong days under the scorching heat of Manila sun. I thought it was something to endure but I'm glad I decided to meet with my college friends/classmates.

Last Thursday, my college friends/classmates had a get-together at Ate Jeng's house. Everything was unplanned yet it turned out great & really fun. Most stores were closed so we ended up just having ice cream, buns & pancit canton. I guess what they say about the company being more important than the venue is true. We had a little drink & talk. The talk/chat was the best part. It felt better seeing them/ourselves talk about work life instead of thesis/projects & expenses. All of us who attended this get-together are already working and in varied fields/industries. I remember back in the day, 1 or 2 years ago, I was the only one sharing about work life since I was then a working student. They seemed very interested to hear stories about work stress, bosses & colleagues. But at that moment, they were the ones sharing. I loved the feeling. Just listening and at the same time learning. It was a novel experience. Varying experiences, bosses, fields, industries, office locations added more color to the conversation. That time, I felt very proud of them. We made it through the grueling tasks & stresses of the college life and now here we are, enjoying the fruits of our labor.

I just feel a little sad that although we spent 4 years in the classroom, I never got to be very close to them. I never got to know them better. I'm only making up for those lost moments just now.

Here we are:

(I'm the one in pink)

When I see and meet these people, I am always reminded of how hard I worked and struggled just to get here. It makes me treasure very moment.

I don't want to burst your summer bubble guys but our vacation is almost over. Going back to work is necessary but I really hope you all had a great soul-searching time. ^__^

Just Starting...

I am starting a new journey with this book that my new employer has given me.

Actually, I was quite surprised to when on my first day of work..they gave me a set of office stuff inluding this book. It was such a warm welcome that I almost cried.

HEE!!!!

On a different note, I am happy that more & more stores are using the recyclable paper instead of plastic bags. Just imagine how greatly it'll lessen our non-biodegradable wastes. I saw MINI STOP & JOLLIBEE starting this campaign a few weeks ago.

By the way, how's everybody doing? I don't have that much time to stay on the world wide web so I rarely get to update this & the rest of my social networking sites.

I miss you all!!

Let's all stay happy & healthy!!

Musings

Since I've resigned from my previous employer..I feel like I've been wandering the streets. Not literally though,...But it was exhilarating I can't explain. I felt emancipated & finally I can do whatever I want. While looking for another full time job, I've decided to have a part-time online teaching job to sustain my daily needs. The flow of money stops but that doesn't mean my bills will cease as well.

So my work for the day starts at 7pm and ends at 12midnight. This may be hard..knowing that aside from my own bills, I have my family back in my hometown to support..but I can't explain the feeling. I feel so optimistic about the future. At last, I have something to look forward to again..like how I was in my younger years. It feels good to be a child at heart & spare yourself of the burdens & worries of the world.

So on during my free time I wander around SM Megamall. It was not to go shopping..I just wanted to .... feel & savor the moment. I observe people, & immerse myself with the novelty of the experience. One time, out of the blue I decided to grow a plant so I bought this flowering plant.

The store @Sm  Megamall

I was definitely enamored by these.

I still remember how blissful it feels to be surrounded by plants. Back in our hometown, my mother in her younger years loved to plant & I must say she & my father definitely has a green thumb. Unfortunately I didn't inherit it. I guess my thumb is pink? (hehehe)

Pimpled me.

So here's the one I decided to grow..I started with one first...

..but....

I was just convinced that I don't have a green thumb when this one eventually died. =( I don't know what happened.

This new lifestyle has also led mo to doing things I've been longing to do..

like...reading...

v

..eating.....

... drinking..

playing...

..seeing the sunrise above the busy city...

seeing the sun set...

& just live.

Yes that's right. I've been living..and not just surviving. And eventhough worries about my future expenses threaten... I can't seem to stop smiling these days.

To My Followers..

I've recently noticed that I've gotten more followers for the past few weeks & for that I'm grateful.

Thank you so much!

But of course, along with that I know that I should be responsible with what I write. It should somehow be of interest to them. It's a pressure really. I've pondered about it for a long time. I've realized that you followed me because of who I am, what you see on my blog & what you think I am. So I will stick to it. This will remain a personal lifestyle blog of a commuter. I'm so sorry if I wouldn't be able to make this 'commercial' for some. This is who I am & you'll have to deal with it.

(hahaha this may sound like pasaring but let me tell you that no ill feelings. I just simply wrote how I felt.)

Paalam CDP!

I really wanted to blog about this last Wednesday, January 4, but I couldn't bring myself in front of my Blogger dashboard.

Anyway, last January 4th, I was told that I'd be joining another team. That was very heartbreaking for me since I've already gotten very comfortable with my EBean team. But who was I to complain? Prior to that, a lot of transfers have already been made so it shouldn't come as a surprise.

hmm...I don't want to make the short story long so let's just skip a few details & head to my final decision. I've decided to just immediately resign. It was so not me. I would usually freak out with this idea but somehow, I felt genuinely happy! Maybe I was looking for an adventure. Anyway, I thought I was crazy but I found myself already doing the proper procedures for resignation. I only gave a 2-day notice but I wouldn't suffer the consequences of not following the 30-day notice since it was a transfer. A different case daw.

These pictures were taken on my last day, January 6th.

Medyo malayo pa ang sahod so lahat kami di mapera. But I was quite surprised when 2 of my teammates prepared a cheap meal. It was just pancit canton & pandesal from Pan de Manila. I was really touched & happy. But I couldn't help but feel the reality sinking in. I realized that I'd be taking an unsure path & that I'd be leaving people I've come to love. It was really sad.

This was my last schedule.

This was our supervisor Jon.

Gizette & Ran.

When I arrived nga pala on my station that day, I saw this one. A present from Gizette. So sweet.

So there was my farewell with Chungdahm. It's just been almost 8 months but I  have a lot of good & bad memories to treasure.

I will miss this aisle....

...and of course these people.
