Grunt

I just got deducted 2,853 pesos from my salary & it is for the month's tax. Now that would have been easy take if not for my extreme dissatisfaction with how the government is run with the use of our taxes. From getting  requirements like police clearance, postal ID & etc..you will see corruption. How did I know? The payments without receipt would suffice.

Haissst..

First Ever Win!

I feel like a 'curse' has finally been lifted.

I don't remember how or when but my experiences in life gave me the impression that I couldn't have a chance of winning any contest. So I never bothered joining any raffle draws, lottery & etc. But just my recent blog giveaway win from Jehan's Addictions changed my perspective.

Last weekend I saw this post declaring me the winner & I got super duper happy! And I couldn't be happier when I saw who the 'culprit' was. It was a little angel named Soo Ae whom I am very fond of.  It was all I'm waiting for. Since then I've had that confidence to join bloggers' contests & raffles.

Thank you so much Soo Ae & Ms. Jehan of Jehan's Addictions !!

Credit Goes To...

I've once seen this banner/tarpaulin promoting a rock band event in our barangay. Being the stingy person that I am, I got so interested when I saw the word 'FREE'. So of course I searched for details like the venue, time, participating bands & etc..To my dismay, WALA AKO NAKITA. Puro mukha lang ng mayor at ng anak niyang balak ata mag mayor din. When I closely took a look at the tarpaulin....I saw why. It's just one of those 'ad campaigns' I see plastered all over the city. What a waste of tax payer's money.

That's why this new "Anti Epal Bill" which I read about from yahoo gets all my support.

It reads:

It has become almost standard practice: politicians plastering their names and faces on projects funded by taxpayers.

To counter this self-praise, Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago filed a bill, now commonly referred to as “Anti-Epal Bill,” prohibiting public officials to affix their name or image to any signage on a proposed or ongoing public works project.

Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago
So far, I haven't heard anybody who's brave enough to come out & oppose this bill. Mapaghahalataan nga naman silang GUILTY diba?

It has become an eyesore wherever we go like the pictures posted below:

[Images randomly taken from Google images]

Why would you affix your name in a project as if you were the one who funded it?  That is ridiculous but it seems that people have just gotten used to it.

Sometimes you might be surprised that these placards/signs are even larger than the projects itself.

The new University of Caloocan City building in Camarin.
Some people call this building ni Recom since his name & 'smiley' logo are all over the place.

UCC's Student Handbook bearing the mayor's infamous face.

You might say that I am pinpointing only Caloocan City in particular but no. I am just writing what I notice.

You know, if you're from Caloocan it'd be  impossible to ignore the mayor & his son's faces. They are all over the place. literally. From public school id's, medals, graduation invitations, certificates, streets, gates, sidewalks. AS IN! They are publicizing themselves too much & I'm getting sick of it.

I hope this bill gets passed ASAP!

"A Reply From CEO of J.P. Morgan To A Pretty Girl Seeking A Rich Husband"

"A Reply From CEO of J.P. Morgan To A Pretty Girl Seeking A Rich Husband".. !

A young 'n pretty lady posted this on a popular forum:

... ----------------------------------------------------
Title: What Should I do to Marry A Rich Guy?
----------------------------------------------------

I'm going to be honest of what I'm going to say here. I'm 25 this year. I'm very pretty, have style 'n good taste. I wish to marry a guy with $500k annual salary or above.

You might say that I'm greedy, but an annual salary of $1M is considered only as middle class in New York.

My requirement is not high. Is there anyone in this forum who has an income of $500k annual salary? Are you all married?

I wanted to ask: what should I do to marry rich persons like you?

Among those I've dated, the richest is $250k annual income,'n it seems that this is my upper limit.

If someone is going to move into high cost residential area on the west of New York City Garden(?), $250k annual income is not enough.

I'm here humbly to ask a few questions:
1) Where do most rich bachelors hang out? (Please list down the names 'n addresses of bars, restaurant, gym)
2) Which age group should I target?
3) Why most wives of the riches are only average-looking? I've met a few girls who don't have looks 'n are not interesting, but they are able to marry rich guys.
4) How do you decide who can be your wife, 'n who can only be your girlfriend? (my target now is to get married)

Ms. Pretty

A Philosophical reply from CEO of J.P. Morgan:

Dear Ms. Pretty,
I have read your post with great interest. Guess there are lots of girls out there who have similar questions like yours. Please allow me to analyse your situation as a professional investor.

My annual income is more than $500k, which meets your requirement, so I hope
everyone believes that I'm not wasting time here.

From the standpoint of a business person, it is a bad decision to marry you. The answer is very simple, so let me explain.

Put the details aside, what you're trying to do is an exchange of "beauty" 'n "money" : Person A provides beauty,'n Person B pays for it, fair 'n square.

However, there's a deadly problem here, your beauty will fade, but my money will not be gone without any good reason. The fact is, my income might increase from year to year, but you can't be prettier year after year.

Hence from the viewpoint of economics, I am an appreciation asset, 'n you are a depreciation asset. It's not just normal depreciation, but exponential depreciation. If that is your only asset, your value will be much worse 10 years later.

By the terms we use in Wall Street, every trading has a position, dating with you is also a "trading position".
If the trade value dropped we will sell it 'n it is not a good idea to keep it for long term - same goes with the marriage that you wanted. It might be cruel to say this, but in order to make a wiser decision any assets with great depreciation value will be sold or "leased".

Anyone with over $500k annual income is not a fool; we would only date you, but will not marry you. I would advice that you forget looking for any clues to marry a rich guy. 'n by the way, you could make yourself to become a rich person with $500k annual income. This has better chance than finding a rich fool.

Hope this reply helps. If you are interested in "leasing" services, do contact me.

signed,
J.P. Morgan CEO...

Note: I don't know if this is true or not. I Just found this from Facebook & I found it very amusing & funny.

Weird Dream

I had this dream last night.

I won a contest daw on TV & a mail was sent to me containing some pamphlets &  tickets to Singapore. I won daw a trip to Singapore, all expense-paid & may pocket money pa! Bongga diba? Plus I could bring two of my friends daw on the trip. Now that where the story evolved. I was torn between two people. My friends knew about it & expected na sila isasama ko. So I ended up asking them to a rock-scissor paper game to decide who'd come with me. I felt like I didn't like the result & most of my friends turned their backs on me because they were not chosen.

Then a new scene. It's in Singapore & everybody was there much to my surprise.

That's how it ended.

Ang weird no?

How about you? What weird dreams have you had recently?

JUAN ANSWERS:, "A basketball coach?"
PROFESSOR: o cge singko ka ha............
JUAN: thank you sir........... toinks! hahaha

Skin Problem

Pimples have been my problem since I started doing my thesis last year. I could only get an average of 3 hours sleep a day. I was juggling my thesis, full time job & OJT so skincare was far from my priorities. I just realized how badly it had affected my confidence.

This was me before the pimple breakout.
I can't seem to find a photo of me having a lot of pimples. Yeah I guess that's how I used to hate 'it'. Not wanting to be taken picture.

Now, through the pieces of advice my skin conscious & beauty expert office friends give me, I've learned the ABC's of skincare. I now try to religiously follow the Cleanse+Tone+Moisturize regimen. So far, I haven't tried the last one yet (M) since I couldn't seem to find the chance to pick a good brand/product. I've only been using cleanser & toner and they have proven to be very effective. Since then. my skin seems less dry & there are no pimple breakouts anymore. Thank God! I thought I was on my way of becoming a 'taghiyawat na tinubuan ng mukha'

I use Eskinol Gluta-Milk whitening Facial Scrub. It's has beads that makes me feel that dirt are really removed from my skin. The 100 ml bottle costs 125.00 pesos & the 10 ml sachet which I prefer costs around 15.00 pesos.

Eskinol Gluta-Milk Whitening Facial Scrub

For my toner, we saw this buy 1 take one offer at Watson's & my good friend Tina & I agreed to try it. It costed 199.75 pesos for two. So we only paid 100.00 pesos each. I can say it doesn't have a strong scent, it's sometimes 'mahapdi' to my pimples but so far I am very happy with the effects. You can spray it directly to your skin or to the cotton ball.

Moringa-O Toner Pritz

This is my most recent picture & even though I still have a few pimple scars, I'm happy with the fewer pimples.

I just bought a moisturizer & a new facial wash a few hours ago.

Myra Daily Sun Protect Facial Moisturizer
Price: 50 ml 99.75 pesos

Celeteque Dermoscience Facial Wash with Natural Moisturizing Factor
Price: 60 ml 79.75 pesos

I'll try these products later & post some reviews about them.
Wish me luck! I'm just new to these kind of things . I am so apprehensive & anxious.

How about you my dear Kablogs? Do you have any suggestions?

Note: Picture of different brands here are not mins. They were randomly taken from the Google images.

All you need to know about LIFE!

Something that uplifted my spirit.

2011 Halloween

Yesterday, October 31st the management decided to have a small gathering for the Halloween in our pantry. There were contests for costumes (male & female), pair & the creepiest station. My team decided on a theme, The Plants vs. Zombies. I was assigned to be the sunflower. I was told to wear any green top and make a head piece resembling a sunflower. However, I got so many things to do last weekend so I wasn't able to come up with any but I made sure to wear something unusual from my common outfits.

 So I wore this.

1. White Bolero
2. Green sando
3. High-waist & laced black skirt/tutu(?)

I was a little bit anxious at how people in the office will think about it but when I arrived in the office I was t he one who got surprised. They were all clad in real costumes. So I was happy cuz my outfit didn't seem out of place & a lot of people liked the skirt.

Roma looking scary.

I had so much fun looking at the pictures on Facebook. Unfortunately, I had early sessions so I wasn't able to roam around the office to personally see my colleagues creativity & efforts. I so like their dedication.

On a different note....

I've just been pondering on why Halloween is celebrated. Why do people need to wear costumes? Is it some kind of marketing strategy for costume & pumpkin stores? I don't want to go into details of how or when it originated. I just wanna know what's the sense? So I came up with  my own assumptions.

Perhaps it is for people to be crazy once a year & be someone else. The need to break out & free yourself from who you are.

Special  thanks to my colleague Lara pala for all these wonderful pictures.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!
