Korea's Cellphone Wastes

As many as 750,000 cellphones weighing 60 tons are piled at a electronics waste terminal of the Association of Electronics Environment in Yongin, south of Seoul, Tuesday. The Gyeonggi Province collected 25kgs of gold worth 1 billion won from the waste cellphones during a two-month campaign to collect waste cellphones for both the environment and needy households. The money will be used for the needy people.

In Korea, as shown above has a lot of cellphone surplus. They are just being thrown out by them but here in the Philippines it is considered a treasure. The folks in Gyeonggi Province donated & collected them for a good cause. They've said to have collected 25 kg. gold from them! My god! That's quite a lot right???
